Who am I?
I’m Aaron Charles, a British personal trainer, photographer, and videographer based in Helsinki, Finland.
My professional work spans two areas that are closely connected by the same foundation: movement, performance, people, and helping others feel and perform at their best.
Personal Trainer
As a personal trainer, I work with people to build strength, improve movement, and feel more capable in their everyday lives. My approach is centred around progressive training, good movement principles, and coaching that is practical and sustainable.
My background in dance has played an important role in how I understand the body. With nearly 20 years of dance experience, I developed a strong appreciation for movement, coordination, body awareness, timing, and physical expression long before becoming a personal trainer.
Photography & Videography
Alongside personal training, I’m the photographer and videographer behind Digital.Darkskies, a Helsinki-based photography and visual content brand working across Finland.
I specialise in sports photography, portrait photography, live event photography, performance photography, business photography, and videography.
My background in dance, sport and coaching naturally influences the way I work behind the camera. I understand movement and timing, but just as importantly, I understand people. Whether I’m photographing an athlete in competition, a performer on stage, a team, a professional, or a live event, my aim is to capture genuine moments rather than simply document what happened.
My photography work has included major sporting and performance events in Finland, including Finnkampen Finland 2026, Finnish women's Salibandy league, Finnish men's and women's football leagues, Helsinki Marathon 2026, and Red Bull Dance Your Style Finland 2026.
These experiences have given me the opportunity to work in fast-moving environments where timing, anticipation and attention to detail are essential.

Digital.Darkskies is the photography and videography brand of Aaron Charles, based in Helsinki and available for projects throughout Finland.
I work with athletes, teams, performers, businesses, event organisers and individuals who need professional photography or video that feels authentic, engaging and purposeful.
Whether I'm working on a sports assignment, a live event, a portrait session, business content or a performance, I bring the same approach I use in coaching: professionalism, preparation, attention to detail, and an understanding of people and movement.
For me, good photography is not simply about recording what happened. It's about recognising the moment, understanding the environment, and creating images that make people feel something.
